The earliest method for making it involved leaving wine in an open container and waiting for it to sour. Wine vinegar comes in red and white varieties. Because it’s made with red wine, the red variety has a strong, full flavor.

Best Red Wine Vinegar

I don't buy store vinegar anymore. Sciabica's red wine vinegar is tart and full of flavor and I know it's fresh and where it comes from. I use it for my home made salad dressing along with their flavored olive oils and my dressings are scrumptious. Makes me want to eat salad every day!
