He was actually our founder's first-cousin, but all of our team members and customers called him "uncle". We learned about Sciabica's from Uncle Tony himself, at the Modesto Farmer's Market in the early 2000's. The centurian was passionate about sharing the oils and when I inquired about a flavor that wasn't in a sample cup, he asked me to extend my palm, and he poured a small amount onto it. Not only was I hooked on this guy's authenticity (and his crochet'd vest and hat -- he wore those regularly!), but the flavor was amazing. We purchased multiple bottles that day. Since then, we've purchased for many family members (we have various food alergies, including dairy, soy, and celiac with many family members). These products have helped us make some awesome alternative recipes! We've also purchased for many corporate gifts over the years. Quite a few of my team members "complain" (jokingly thank me) within weeks of receiving the oils, because they have used all of a specific bottle (and it varies), because their families put it on everything. Thankfully $5 shipping hasn't gone away for the larger pack.
We use these oils on the following: bruschetta, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, salads, fried eggs, burratta, potato salad, marinates, drizzle the sticky over pizzas, corn on the cob, grilled veggies, fresh veggies, brownies (jalapeno oil in baked brownies give them a heat kick!).
